Valmont is moving along... Indoor Cycling is, um, hmmm

Recently VeloNews along with about ever cycling news agency has been reporting on the movement of the soon-to-be Valmont Bike Park. And then there is the Boulder Indoor Cycling which seems to have stall. About 2-3 weeks ago I sent a few email to them to find out how things are going and find about more about the facility and still no reply. I also looked in their door and saw lumber stacked.... and yesterday the lumber is still there... same spot... new emails still go to /dev/null. Anyone have an inside scoop on this? Will the progress of Valmont Bike Park kill Boulder Indoor Cycling or fan the fames?

Tour of Utah

in

I know this is not local racing news but there are a lot of pros from Colorado that are racing the Tour of Utah. After the first stage Jason Donald is leading the race and holds the KOM lead. There is no live coverage of the race that I can find but Road Magazine is on hand is providing some twitter updates. You can follow there twitter feed here.

Honor the Stop

Honor the Stop is not about the Bus Stop or the Bus Stop ride but it is about respecting the law. This movement was started in San Francisco and is spreading throughout the country. Their theme is pretty basic, follow traffic laws and respect others in order to gain respect. I LOVE IT. I can't tell you how many times I get frustrated when I see a cyclist blow through a 4 way stop when there are 3 cars already at the stop. How can we expect auto traffic to cut us some slack when some riders don't give a damn about the laws of the road. The problem could explode as CU University encourages freshmen to leave cars at home. Hopefully the university (including the CU cycling team) will spend some time and $$ to focus on cycling education on campus.
